City center, Cathedral and Royal Chapel

The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Incarnation of Granada and the Royal Chapel were founded by the Catholic Monarchs as a way to consolidate Christianity in the newly conquered city of Granada.

-The Royal Chapel  is a late Gothic style funerary temple, very sober but full of symbolism.

The marble mausoleums of the Catholic Monarchs and the mausoleum Joana I of Castile and her husband Felipe “el Hermoso”, are astonishing for their details and beauty.

In the Museum of the Sacristy you also would enjoy contemplating the royal collection of medieval oil paintings and personal objects of the Catholic Monarchs.

-The Cathedral of Granada, a Renaissance style temple is a colossal work in terms of dimensions that took almost two centuries to be built.

The main chapel, with its original circular design, is decorated with stained glass windows, paintings and sculptures depicting the history of Christian salvation.

Discover all the temples´s treasures with a guided tour.
